NCC Managing Director, Alan Looney to Join Industry Panel on Talent at BioPharmaChem Ireland Event

At NCC, we understand that the long-term success of Ireland’s biopharmachem sector depends not only on innovation and supply chain excellence, but on people. Talent remains one of the most critical drivers of growth, resilience and competitiveness across our industry.

That is why we are pleased to share that our CEO, Alan Looney, will be joining a panel of industry leaders at the upcoming Indigenous BioPharmaChem Brew and Conference Welcome Reception, taking place on 5th May at The Horse Show House, Ballsbridge.

Supporting Ireland’s Indigenous BiopharmaChem Sector

Hosted by BioPharmaChem Ireland on the eve of its flagship Impact Conference & Awards, this event will bring together leaders from across the indigenous sector for an evening of discussion and insight.

The event also marks the upcoming launch of BioPharmaChem Ireland’s new Indigenous Sector Strategy—an important initiative focused on strengthening Ireland’s homegrown ecosystem and supporting companies as they scale in a competitive global environment.

At NCC, we have long recognised the importance of a strong indigenous sector. As a leading raw material and sourcing specialist working across pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets, we see first-hand how collaboration, capability, and talent underpin sustainable growth.

Addressing the “Talent Trinity

The panel discussion will focus on one of the key strategic pillars of the new strategy: talent.

Framed as the “Talent Trinity”, the conversation will explore how companies can effectively attract, develop, and retain the people needed to grow and compete internationally.

Importantly, this session is designed to move beyond high-level theory. Panelists have been asked to share practical, real-world experiences—what is working, what challenges remain, and what lessons have been learned along the way.

For NCC, this is an area of ongoing focus. Our continued success is built on the expertise, adaptability, and commitment of our people.

A Panel of Industry Experience

Alan will be joined by a range of leaders from across the biopharmachem ecosystem:

  • Rosemarie Tully, VP & GM Europe, Avadel Pharmaceuticals (Panel Chair)
  • Tom Brennan, Co-Founder, Eirgen Pharma, TriviumVet, Q1 Scientific
  • Lee Sherlock, CEO & Co-Founder, Meta-Flux
  • Orla Callan, Managing Director, Innopharma Education

The session will open with remarks from BioPharmaChem Ireland and conclude with a fireside-style discussion, offering further insight into the leadership journeys and talent strategies behind some of Ireland’s most successful indigenous companies.

NCC at the BioPharmaChem Impact Conference & Awards 2026

In addition to participating in the pre-conference panel discussion, NCC will also be exhibiting at the BioPharmaChem Impact Conference & Awards Dinner 2026, taking place on 6th May 2026 at the InterContinental, Dublin 4.

Our Product Manager – Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical, Paul Power, will be on hand to discuss NCC’s full range of BioPharma raw materials and how we support our partners across the sector.

If you would like to arrange a meeting with Paul during the event, contact us directly at hello@ncc.ie, and a member of our team will be in touch.

Looking Ahead

As our industry continues to evolve, the ability to build, develop and retain talent will remain central to maintaining Ireland’s position as a global leader in biopharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing.

Events like this provide an important platform for open discussion, shared learning, and collaboration across the sector.

We look forward to contributing to the conversation and connecting with peers at both the pre-conference event and the main conference.
